Checklist for Postal Applications
If you would like to apply by post, please print and fill in and sign the following check list. This must be sent along with your application.
Template letter: authorisation
for a minor to travel
Template letter to fill in and sign by each parent for submission of an application for a minor. You should also attach a photocopy of the 'Livret de Famille' (pages: husband, wife and child concerned) and a photocopy of the identity card/passport of both parents.
The « 2-Month Rule Exemption Request on Account of Neighbouring Tourism » Form
Please note that 2 visits to India with a Tourist visa must be separated by a 2-month break. This form allows you to request an exemption from this rule if you will be visiting other Asian countries and then re-entering India (i.e. organised tours, cruises, trip to Nepal).
The « 30-day Rule Exemption
Request » Form for Business Visas
Please note that each stay in India on a Business visa may not exceed 30 days. This form allows you to request an exemption from this rule.
The « Person of Indian Origin Undertaking for a Tourist Visa » Form
Please note that it is strongly recommended for persons of Indian origin, their spouse and children to apply for an Entry visa. Should you wish to go against this recommendation and apply for a Tourist visa, you would be required to add this document to your visa application file.
Reference form for non French nationals
All those applying with a non French passport are required to fill in the reference form for non French nationals as well as applicants of Bangladeshi or Afghan origin (applicants of Sri Lankan, Chinese and Pakistani nationality or origin, see below). This form must be written in capital letters, be clearly legible and completely filled since it needs to be faxed abroad. Incomplete forms or forms which are not legible can lead to severe delays with your application.

Sponsorship Certificate for Pakistani nationals

The « Employment Visa
Proforma » Form
This form must be completed in English for Employment Visa application.
Template letter: The « Income Tax Payment Undertaking » Form
This is an undertaking letter from your company stating that they will declare and pay income tax in India based on your revenues. This letter must be provided on company letterhead paper in English for any Employment Visa application.
The « E-Visa Undertaking for Journalists » Form
This form must be completed in English by any journalist applying for an Employment Visa.
Template letter: Attestation for J-visa applicants travelling to India on tourism
This letter must be filled in by any applicant whose profession qualifies for the “Journalist” visa category and who wishes to visit India on non-professional grounds.
The visa Rectification Form
This form must be filled in if you notice any mistake or anomaly on your visa. This form is compulsory to allow us to forward your request to the Embassy of India. The Embassy would the check whether your visa is valid or not and get it rectified if necessary.
The visa application Cancellation Form
This form must be filled in for any visa application cancellation request along with an explanation letter written and signed by the applicant. Both documents are compulsory to allow us to forward your request to the Embassy of India.

Step 1
Start by choosing the visa category in the section CHOOSING YOUR VISA. The horizontal menu bar would then allow you to browse through the additional information related to your visa category: checklist, application form, additional forms, photos, processing time, fees, frequently asked questions.

Step 2
Once your file is ready, go to the section SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION to choose one of the modes of submission for your visa application.

Step 3
While your application is being processed you can visit the section COLLECTING YOUR APPLICATION in order to track your application and find out how to collect your processed application.
