IMPORTANT NOTICES:

1. NEW LEGISLATION REGARDING TOURIST VISAS:
- There must be a 1-month gap for applying for a fresh Tourist visa on expiry of the previous Tourist visa.
- There must be a 2-month break between two visits to India on a Tourist visa. An exemption to this rule can be applied for: you can find more details on the Tourist visa checklist, as well as in our FAQs page. You can also contact our call centre on 0892 230 358.

2. Official information from the Embassy of India regarding Satphones:
“The use/operation of any Telegraphic services/devices, including wireless is regulated by the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885. Anyone using any telegraphic devices, including Satphone unauthorisedly, violates Section 4 of Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, and can be penalised under section 20 and 21 of the said Act.


Any foreigner intending to bring satellite phone into India would have to obtain prior license/permission of Department of Telecommunications and in case of import of a satellite phone as a cargo, a declaration is to be given by the person importing the goods about details of goods. Satellites phones brought in baggage/hand baggage without licence would be detained/confiscated till such time the holder is able to produce a license issued by the Department of Telecommunications.”

The acceptance or the refusal of a visa is at the sole discretion of the consular services of the Embassy of India. 1. You are a French passport holder wishing to make a visa application
Use the pages in the Preparing Your Application section of this site to find out about your visa application, how to download the forms and how to prepare your documents. You may then choose your preferred mode of submission on our Submitting Your Application pages. You are strongly advised to check the Processing Times page and to submit your visa application well in advance.

If you are a French passport holder of Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Chinese, Bangladeshi or Afghan origin, additional documents will be required for your visa application. They are available on the Additional Forms page. Visa processing times and fees will also be different

2. You are holding a French Travel Document and wishing to make a visa application
Use the pages in the Preparing Your Application section of this site to find out about your visa application, how to download the forms and how to prepare your documents. Additional documents will be required depending on your previous nationality; they are available on the Additional Forms page. You may then choose your preferred mode of submission on our Submitting Your Application pages. You are strongly advised to check the Processing Times page and to submit your visa application well in advance.

3. You are holding a non French passport and wishing to make a visa application
Use the pages in the Preparing Your Application section of this site to find out about your visa application, how to download the forms and how to prepare your documents. Additional documents will be required depending on your nationality or your origin; they are available on the Additional Forms page. You may then choose your preferred mode of submission on our Submitting Your Application pages. The processing times vary considerably from one country to another, hence you are strongly advised to check the Processing Times page to obtain an approximation of the minimum processing time required by your application.

4. You have already made your visa application
You can check the minimum processing time of your application on our Processing Times page, track the status of your application online on our Tracking Your Application page, and prepare the relevant documents required for passport collection on our Documents for Passport Collection page.

5. You wish to transfer a visa from your old passport to your new passport
The conditions and modalities of this request are explained on the FAQs page.

6. You are holding an Official passport, a Diplomatic passport, or a United Nations laissez-passer
Your visa application is processed directly at the Consulate of India, Paris.

7. You would like to make an application for a PIO or OCI card
Applications for PIO (Person of Indian Origin) or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) are processed directly at the Consulate of India, Paris.

8. You are an Indian national
Consular services for Indian nationals (passport renewal, birth certificates, bachelor certificates, document certifying…) are carried out directly at the Consulate of India, Paris.
